Podcast: Virtual fieldtrip to Big Island

Last year, I went on a trip to Big Island, part of the Five Islands Nature Reserve just offshore from Port Kembla, with Uncle Peter Button from the National Parks and Wildlife Service , Zara Button an Environmental Sciences student, University of Wollongong, and Auntie Carol Speechley, who is a Local Aboriginal Elder and knowledge holder in the Illawarra. We also had a few helpers join us that day: Valerie Harwood (University of Sydney), Paul Jones (photographer) and Jennifer Macey (podcast maker, University of Wollongong).

Several of us have been visiting Big Island for over ten years. We shared our experiences of the island in a video, made by Paul Jones, which you can view below, and podcast that was made by Jennifer Macey.
